My friend and driver always bragged on how great Brechbill Trailer Sales was, how great the prices, personal customer service was. I run a fleet of Hotshot Trucks and Gooseneck Trailers, and I am the creator and admin of Hotshot-USA Resource network, www.Hotshot-USA.com. I manage a large network for our industry. Recently I was in a bind. I had converted my elec Drum Brakes to Elec over Hydraulic disk. After a couple years I needed rotors, pads, and they were manufactured by DeeMax components. My trailer guys were unable and back ordered on parts, my trailer repair couldn't find them. I called and looked furiously for them . When I did finally find them, they were $300 more than Brechbill. I remembered that my driver had mentioned that I give them a call. I did, talked to Justin and others there, Great service, They found, quoted and overnighted my parts straight to my shop. I was so impressed with them that I am adding them to my Hotshot Connections and told my friends in the business to contact them for all their parts. When I find a business like this that can help my trailers and my members, I get excited. I look forward to a long relationship with them. I honestly believe that you can not find a better source for all your trailer needs. Don't get jacked by high mark ups on parts. Recently purchased a 6x10 dump trailer. Bill was extremely helpful, helping me find the trailer I needed. Prices were great, staff as well. I highly recommend Brechbill Trailer!
This gizmo works like a charm and I had no trouble getting it plugged in. I popped it into the small compartment on the right of my steering wheel, right by the A/C duct. It was a piece of cake to set up and kick into action whenever I need it. What’s cool is that when I’m not hauling anything, it’s nicely tucked out of sight. Programming it was a breeze and it never fails to work properly. What a steal!
I didn’t really know a thing about trailer brake controllers, but I had to buy one. Saw this one had great feedback and looked pretty straightforward, so I got it. In theory, you should be able to hook it up no problem with the plug n play wire harness. But let me tell ya, the actual installation process is a whole other thing – lying on your back under the dash, wrestling with wires and trying to mount it where perhaps it wasn’t designed to be. While that part was a bit tricky, the setup was pretty easy if you just follow the directions, and it does the job well. I’m pretty happy with it and I’d recommend it to others.
Best money I ever spent!
Check out these snaps of my 2012 Tundra fitting…Super easy and quick. Looks pretty neat. It’s a bit too close to the parking brake, but I can still access it.
The only thing that bothered me was that the instructions didn’t explain what the white wire is for or where it should go. I thought it’d be for grounding and turns out, I was right. I also came across a video where it showed the wiring guy put it on a flat metal piece right above the harness seats. I fixed mine behind the panel near the door hinge. There’s a bunch of other wires that seem to be grounding there, so I just took off the bolt, fixed my wire, and tightened the bolt again. I tucked the wire in and ran it up and towards the back. For the finishing touch, I zip-tied the two wires(one wire and one wire cluster from the harness) to the bottom of the Hood Release area.
Time to hit the campsite now!
