Oct 4 2023 while moving a 24ft box trailer from VT to FL, had a tire separation and my brake controller was working intermittently. So I stayed overnight in Chambersburg. Through a Google search I called the first shop that opened at 7AM, they referred me to Brechbill Trailer. I just drove over and waited for them to open. The Service Mgr pulled in after us and before entering the building approach me to find out how he could help. I explained I needed 4 new tires and have my controller checked out. He said no problem and had to go in and meet with his team, please give him 15 min. Well it was a short 15 min and the bay doors opened and a technician came out and pulled the trailer in. 1 hour later, with new Tires, controller and 7 pin connector I was on the road. All testing was explained during the process and I never felt like I was in the wrong place.. if you are within 50 miles, make the drive. It will be well worth the trip.
This is a pretty awesome setup for a goose neck hitch, and you know what’s cool? You can team it up with a 5th wheel adapter and hitch and get both.
Besides the powdercoat filling up threaded holes, the quality isn’t half bad. Though, the thinking behind it seems a bit sketchy. Seriously, not aligning the hitch with the ready-made bed spot is just plain dumb. I mean I’m not about to start drilling holes that don’t align with the bed spot, and I wouldn’t expect any decent accessory firm to ask me to. Somehow, the original hitch and Curt’s manage to hit the spot. With a few good nudges, even the B&W can do it.
Sure, it takes roughly twice as many pieces as it should and way too many bolts that need tightening under the truck, especially when you’re trying to align it with the hitch spot in the bed. But once that’s done, everything’s cool. I bet it’s as solid as all the other B&W hitches I’ve used in the past.
Problem is when you have to change your shocks. The right rear shock? Not coming out. If you’ve installed this thing, you’d know dropping the front crossmember every time you have to change shocks is far from a great idea. Plus, if you tow a lot, wearing out rear shocks is pretty much a given.
So, I bought this when I switched from a bumper pull camper to a 5th wheel. I managed to install it all on my own. B&W has this super handy tutorial on YouTube – you should definitely check it out. The installation wasn’t too tricky – and I only had to buy a hole saw. Oh, and the seller was pretty awesome. They reached out to me just to double-check that I got the right model. This one won’t work with models older than 2017. Got it installed on my 2017 F350 like a charm.
Awesome job B&W! The install was a breeze as always and the fit was spot on!
great product
