Note:

• Inadequate clearance may result in hitch hitting the ground or other objects
• Hitting an obstacle may damage the hitch and affect its integrity

A groove is located near the top of the shank in the adjustment channel. To detach the ball mount platform from the shank, you’ll need to first remove the entire ball mount from your hitch. Next, take out the pins securing the platform. Flip the platform to the stowed position on the back of the shank, and slide it upwards until the center pin aligns with the groove in the shank. Pull the platform towards the rear of the shank until the pin disengages from the adjustment channel.

When the Tow & Stow is fastened in your hitch receiver, it’s impossible to remove the ball mount platform. This is due to the groove in the shank being positioned so that your hitch collar obstructs the pin on the platform from exiting the channel. Even after removing the pins that hold the ball mount platform in place, the platform remains confined within this channel. Therefore, by using a hitch lock to secure the entire ball mount in your hitch receiver and a coupler lock to prevent your trailer’s coupler from detaching from the ball, your trailer will be safe and secure.
